We’ve just finished working on our Mallard Mobile website! It’s a neat new site for users of mobile phones who have web browsers that don’t do quite as good of job of loading sites as desktop browsers do. We hope you really enjoy our new mobile site and are able to use it to gain access to Mallard on your mobile phone.

Our original plan was to mobile-optimize our entire site. However, once we began working on the mobile optimization process it simply become too difficult for us to scale our web data down into formats that our mobile-optimizing program could use. However, we didn’t want to go without some form of mobile site, so we met it halfway. We have one mobile page up on our site that tells a little bit about us, gives you our latest news, and links you to sections on our desktop website as well as popular destinations such as the My Mallard Community and My Mallard itself. That way we’re still able to reach mobile customers without handling all of the issues that would arise from us trying to mobile-optimize our entire site. This is a new step for Mallard that will enable us to reach an entire new group of customers in the near future, and we are extremely excited about the new opportunities this presents.
