Local News and Family Oriented Programming to Arrive in North Georgia
Today Nathan Parker, President/CEO of Mallard Computer, Inc., announced that he would be pursuing plans to formulate a television station in the Buford, Georgia, area, down the road as sells from Mallard’s to-be-released Internet device, Wi-Net®, come in.
Parker’s plans for the station include the ability to broadcast local news and weather to the people of North Georgia, as well as to provide family-oriented and ministry-related programming through an affiliate with FamilyNet television, a network recently acquired by the Atlanta-based InTouch Ministries, as well as personally hand pick additional family/ministry-oriented programming during the times FamilyNet does not broadcast a signal.
“The people of North Georgia are in need of local news and weather coverage, as well as access to classic family programming and the Gospel”, the eighteen-year-old executive stated. “By starting this television station, we’re not only working to save lives by providing better news and weather coverage to the people of North Georgia, we’re also able to bring the Gospel into the homes of every television viewer in North Georgia. It really doesn’t get better than that.”
“While all of the details have not been sorted out yet,” Parker went onto explain, “We’ve already been securing affiliate information from FamilyNet, as well as already have a well-planned setup for the tools our weather department will be using. Now we just need to get Wi-Net® on the market, and with the Lord’s help, we’ll be able to not only produce the future of Internet access, but also reach thousands of homes for Christ.”
Parker also explained that when the time comes to launch the station there would be some corporate expanding taking place by creating a new division of the company called Mallard Communications. He also further explained that he would be partnering with WeatherBug for the majority of the weather services used by the station due to the fact that he is already a weather reporter for the company through its backyard program, with the rest of the weather tools being acquired from Weather Services International.
